   STEEL LAKE Canoe Trail

The guide describes a heritage trail between Long Lake and Santoy Lake via McKay Lake and Steel Lake.  The north end begins at Longlac, north of Lake Superior, and the south end is located near Terrace Bay on the North Shore.

This publication is designed for both canoeists and the general public.  As a route guide, it provides information about campsites, portages, road systems, and landscape.  The canoeist may use this guide to plan a day trip, a weekend trip, or a full-scale backcountry trip taking up to two weeks.

As a nature guide, this publication provides information about flora, fauna, and geology.  As a cultural guide, it provides information on recreational and educational opportunities, geographic names, and local history.

The canoeist will likely open the guide to a particular page and stuff it into a transparent and waterproof pocket.  He or she can read while paddling.  The armchair traveller will ascertain that snacks and beverages are handy, assume a comfortable position, and browse the pages at leisure.

Single copies are $9.95 each, Canadian dollars.

An order of 10 copies is $60.00.

E-mail the editor for further information, and make the first term in the subject line Canoe Trail.
